New Zealand Home School Exemption Application Assistance
You have read Charlotte Mason’s 20 principles and Is a Charlotte Mason Education Right For Your Children and have come to the conclusion that the Charlotte Mason philosophy is right for you and your family. However, first glance at the Ministry of Education home-school application form click here, and you felt a little overwhelmed! Well, look no further! I am here to assist you in applying for a home-school exemption.
Step 1: Schedule either a phone or in person consultation with me (30mins-1hr). The aim of this initial consultation is twofold. First, it is to find out about you and your children – names, ages etc and your contact details. Second, to clarify how you want me to help with the home school exemption. For example:
- Complete “Sections 2-3”
- Complete “Section 2” – complete or part
- Complete “Section 3” – complete or part
- Read through your completed exemption and give advice before submission
- Other

Step 2: After the initial consultation, a deposit will be required if you wish to continue using my services.
Step 3: Upon completion of the home-school application consultation document, it will be emailed to you along with an itemized invoice and account information.
Step 4: If you have any questions regarding the consultation document, please feel free to email me.
Step 5: You will complete Section 1 of the exemption application and email the completed exemption to the Ministry of Education (MOE) regional office.
Step 6: All questions emailed from the MOE to you, asking for clarification or extra information regarding the exemption application can be emailed to me to answer. If the question(s) pertain to a section I completed, then no other additional costs will be charged. If the question(s) pertains to a section not completed by me, and you would like help answering them, then additional charges will invoiced.
